RE: Newer Trail-Lite B+

Welcome. We really enjoy our 2003 Trail Lite. Six thousand miles last summer but not nearly that much this year due to job changes. Is the T/L on a workhorse chassis a super B+ ? Our B+ is on the chevy express 3500 one ton van chassis.

RE: How to attach a thermometer to record exterior temps

Our wireless is a weather channel brand and came from home depot as a closeout, 10 bucks I think, so I got two. Put one remote inside the water heater door for outside temp and the other back in the coach area. The main unit also has a readout for the cab area.

RE: Drive the rig to work?

I've done it several times. When leaving on a trip and not backtrack 17 miles, and when one of the cars was in the shop. With 900 acres parking was never a problem.

RE: Rt. 35 from Charleston, WV to Dayton, OH

I know they upgraded the interchange on I-64 at US35 and a good bit of traffic exits as we go by on the way to KY. Also a semi driver told me that is how he goes to Ohio to beat the scales on I-70.

Adjustable brake pedal hookup problems ?

Has anyone with an adjustable brake pedal on their toad had problems installing dinghy brakes, especially a ready brake or ready brute, where a cable pulls the brake pedal arm? Our new ( to us ) 2005 Malibu Maxx has the adjustable brake pedal option. This is my first car with this option and will be my first attempt to install the tow bar, mounts, braking system etc.

RE: I 70 from Hagerstown MD to PA Tpke overnite stay

There is a shortcut that I take with my RV that goes between I-68 west of Cumberland and the PA TPK at Somerset. Knocks about 25 miles off our trips to Erie. PM me for details. We've overnighted, after a Friday afternoon start, where 76 crosses 79 north of Pittsburgh. The Cranberry Mall area has a super wally world, Costco, etc, and is well lighted and was quiet.

RE: RV CAMPSITE SUGGESTION

The last two replys are from people telling you not to use all capital letters in your post. In internet that is the same as yelling. Hope you find a nice campground.

RE: A TT with no windows? Why?

Well said, John. I wonder what ever happened to the human spirit :(.. How do those sayings go? "Ya' can take the redneck out of the country but.............." Thanks for the reply. When I read some things posted on this site I just hope I'll never have to camp beside that poster. Not enought water to wash that off.

RE: Sofa bed in 252DS

We take our 4" memory foam mattress topper from Costco on any trip over one night. I fold it into a "Z" and feed it under the sofa in thirds to store it during the day. I am thinking of getting two twin sized or a thinner size to make storing them easier. It is a job to put the queen topper under the sofa but it fits. Sleeps great.

RE: B+ motorhomes

We will be picking up a Malibu Maxx which I hope to set up for occasinal towing. Any real world experiences with towing a Toad behind a B+, especially the rear door version like mine. I know a couple of you tow trailers, which I also did one time, but I was curious to get some first person accounts on pulling a car. Don't see many small rigs pulling Toads but there are times I think it would come in handy.

RE: 6.0 liter Chevy cutaway chassis

We are having an ongoing discussion on fuel economy on the B+ thread on the B+ sub forum. Most of us have the 6.0 liter, 12,900 GVW chassis. At 9000 lbs ( we run lite ) and 60 mph I averaged 14 on my last trip. Other rigs are are getting better and worse. Check us out.

RE: B+ motorhomes

It appears to me that a pretty good gain in mpg can be gained by driving at 60 mph with 6.0 in the Trail Lites. I have had vehicles with the 5.7 (350), 5.0 (305) and also 327,307 and 267 V8s and the 6.0 seems to have so much more torque but without the expected decrease in fuel economy. Perhaps the newer designed engine and fuel injection style and heavy duty 4spd OD lock up tranny make the difference. I hope to install a Scan Gauge to monitor some engine parameters. My guess is the torque curve and fuel flow and OD shift point rpm have a sweet spot around 58-60 mph. I read elsewhere in the forum that Monaco will keep open the Warsaw IN plant in their downsizing plans. That is where the T/Ls where built. I toured it last year with the R-V camping club rally.

B Barbie Benton A Adrian Barbeau T Tina Louise And a lot of little blue pills. No not what you think, but Alleve, because as the only guy on the island, you know who would have to build the huts, catch the fish, fight the head hunters, etc. You remember, just like Giligan's Island.

RE: Budweiser sold to In-Bev for $70.00 a share

I wonder if they would just agree to buy Washington DC instead of just renting it and let us keep the rest of our country.

RE: fresh water fill

On ours the fill port has a small vent above the larger fill hole. The vent is connected to the tank with a smaller hose above where the larger water hose enters the tank. It vents all the air out and when the water begins to flow it is completely full. On ours the fresh water tank is under the dinette seat and you can watch it fill.

RE: Advice on elevation/safe roads into Virginia

All the interstates crossing the mountains that I've used in WV, VA, PA (I-64,68,76,80,81)have been well marked with grade percentage signs so you know how steep and how far the drop is. Remember to use the truck lane going up and use your four way flashers if you drop below 40 mph. If you try to stay at 55 or 60 going down don't be surprised when all the semis pass you along with the four wheelers. The big rigs are just saving their brakes.
